Tear Stains

What's worse than tear stains? Not much! Have you ever been to a park or a fancy shop on Park Avenue and had someone rush over to pet your dog and refract after seeing their tear stains?  The worst feeling ever!

Not to worry, most dog owners already know what they are (and most aren't judging you - we promise).  Tear stains are simply something to look after -and- care for (mostly during the teething years).

So what do we do about them?

There are so many products out there.... which work?

In our case, we tried just about everything (e.g. Angel Eyes, Petpost, ZPAW, NaturVet, etc).

What has worked? Well, they all work to some degree.  However, they work in the same way that a soapy dog shampoo would.  They remove and/or lighten the grime, but not the complete stain.  So... what can you do?

In Sweetie's case, we found that using baby wipes twice a day helped just as well -and- you are able to use the same wipe afterwards to care for their chin, body and paws too!

Not enough?  For stubborn stains, try dipping a Q-Tip into a drop of diluted peroxide and swipe under each eye. BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL not to get too close to their eyes -and- always use a different Q-Tip for each eye.

Next, dip the other side of each Q-Tip in pure mineral oil and carefully swipe under each eye. A little goes a long way, so please use sparingly and always BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL
